To use the 1-Wire kernel module on a BeagleBone Black, one has to compile a custom device tree, as explained in this article
This requires a patched version of the device tree compiler (dtc), as per this comment. Since the patch mentioned there doesn't cleanly apply to the current (as of 2013-12-15) version 1.4.0 of the device tree compiler, I updated it and uploaded the new patch, the patched sources, armv7l binaries and the .dts and .dtbo files used in the article -- see above for all of those.
